2024 has been an unforgettable year in my dance journey. From evolving as a teacher and choreographer to discovering more about my personal style, it’s been a whirlwind of experiences and growth. Here’s a quick look back:
1. Festivals and Performances
While 2023 was packed with socials, 2024 held its own magic. Some highlights:
Dancing at Adelaide Sensual
Performing at La Fiesta
Joining the stage multiple times with the incredible Funky Fellas
2. Growth as a Dance Teacher
This year pushed me to new heights, and I couldn’t be prouder of these moments:
Teaching Bachata Beginners on the fly at Vida Latin Festival in January
Surviving (and loving!) two intense 18-hour teaching weeks
Clocking a total of 526 teaching hours—averaging 10 hours weekly!
This was alongside working full-time, social dancing, and finding time for my own practice.
Other milestones included co-teaching a Bachata Sensual course, hosting a Salsa lesson at a Hen’s party, and contributing choreographic ideas for both salsa and bachata pieces at TSF.
3. The Launch of My Website
Beyond being a hub for my blog posts, class schedule, and private lesson info, my website marked a major step in taking myself seriously as a professional. It’s been a cornerstone of my growth this year.
Looking ahead, there’s still a list of unfinished goals to carry into 2025, but I’m choosing to celebrate the wins and stay inspired for what’s next.
