Last year, I faced a massive challenge that brought anxiety and stress into every day of my life. But within that whirlwind, I found something incredibly valuable—a profound lesson that I'll carry with me forever.
One of the toughest parts of this challenge was dealing with my self-consciousness when it came to posting dance content online. Sharing something so close to my heart made me feel exposed, vulnerable to criticism. I cared so much about dance, and that made it hard to open myself up to judgment.
But as time went on, I started to notice a change. I found myself smiling more, laughing more, eagerly sharing bits and pieces of my dance journey—flubs, giggles, and all. These moments, once sources of embarrassment, became cherished milestones in my growth as a dancer. They were real, raw reflections of who I am and who I'm becoming.
Through sharing these candid snapshots of my dance practice, I inadvertently began a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. I started to see myself in a new light, flaws and all, and I began to embrace that person—the one who's still learning, still growing, still figuring it out.
My dance journey became a mirror, showing me who I am and who I want to be. And with each post, each share, I grew more comfortable in my own skin. I let go of the fear of judgment and instead focused on sharing my passion with others.
So to those who have followed along on this journey, thank you. Whether you've been through something similar or you're still finding your way, know that you're not alone. Let's keep dancing, keep sharing, and keep supporting each other every step of the way.
